Renaissance
It’s a good day for a good day.
I went on two errands today – I received an Indian head penny in my change at the first location.
Then I found a penny at the second location! I am now up to $4.07 in found money for 2024.
Back at the studio I worked on a new series of paintings. They are 8″ x 8″ butterflies. Not finished but here is a preview.
Butterflies represent a rebirth. A renaissance. Past-present-future. It’s perfect.
Such a good day.
P.S. I will be at the gallery at AFL Studio (301 E. Seneca St., Manlius, New York) on Friday, August 23, 2024. I might pop by tomorrow if I have time.
Found
Two more pennies today! Up to $3.99 in found money for 2024.

I found twelve cents last week. I should get bonus points for the 1963 penny – OMG – that was an inside-the-matrix moment. Up to $1.75 in found money for 2025.
Eclipse at Beaver Lake Plus 50
I viewed the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 with two of my favorite people. While at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville, New York, we hiked and visited the nature center gift shop and the art exhibit which included a collection of taxidermized animals. We also had a picnic as we waited for the big event. They had food trucks there including the Carvel ice cream truck. So fun!
In addition, I found two quarters on the ground! Now I am up to $1.31 in found money for 2024. Thank you, Janine and Elaine!

Sometimes I find paper money on the ground. That’s right – for those of you from other countries who have heard that the streets are lined in gold in the USA. ‘Tis true.
I found a dollar! I am now up to $1.89 in found money for 2023.

It Makes Sense
I found five more cents in the past few weeks, bringing my total 2023 haul to seventy-one cents! I love when I spend $70 on allergy meds then find a penny on the way back to the car. Pennies from heaven are a real thing.
