James Rosenquist Is a Cat

I adopted Jameson James (Jamey) Rosenquist from Every Cat’s Dream, 2101 Vestal Parkway West, Vestal, NY 13850.  Jamey was never feral.  He, along with his three sister kitties, was born inside the cozy home of a foster mother.  Jamey is a very healthy, loving companion and I am so grateful for Every Cat’s Dream and for the volunteers who rescue and foster so many cats and kittens.

They rely on donations and often sponsor events in the Binghamton, New York area.  The next one is tomorrow at the Vestal Library.  For information on these events you can visit their website or follow them on Facebook.

I am donating these paper collages to support the organization.  I created them back in 2001.  I used embroidery floss to sew paper to paper and added text, as well as playing cards, sand dollars, coins and sea glass.  They are delicate so, I am going to trust that the right people will value and care for them – adopt them – the way I value, love and care for my Jamey.

They are placed on foam board in acetate sleeves so they will need to be framed.   I priced them at $75 each, which in today’s money would be $136.81 according to Google calculating the inflation rate.  So, that is quite a bargain!

If you do purchase one, please let me know and I will put you on my mailing list for future art events.  It is helpful to have a provenance when curating an art collection.

In addition to my art fundraising efforts, I have entered Jamey in a contest to get his photograph in a calendar.  The money donated by voting for him goes to Every Cat’s Dream.

Pablo Tashkovski

Yesterday was this beautiful, sunny day. I hiked seven miles then ran errands. Today, so far at least, is an indoor day. We had a snowstorm.

Here are some pictures of my cat. The weather is not a factor in his life. He’s not conditional – unless I don’t get up at 5:00 am to feed him. Pablo eats a gastrointestinal prescription diet of dry and wet cat food provided by Royal Canin. I would love to see his face on the packaging. I mean, who wouldn’t want their pet to have his own modeling contract?

Cats are a recurring theme in my artwork. Did Pablo’s namesake paint cats? Yes!

New Jersey Art Show!

20160304_094153-1

I will be participating in this art exhibition in New Jersey!  It is an animal-themed show.  I will be selling oil and collage paintings from my Dream Time and Echolalia series.

Paintings will be $225-825 each.  10% of sales will be donated to an animal shelter in the area.  The show will run for several months.

I will have more information about it next month.  I still have not made travel plans to coordinate the installation.  For now, suffice it to say that I am soooo excited about this!

Natur-Tyme Flier

I just received the business cards I created through moo.com so I decided to take some over to Natur-Tyme, Dewitt, NY where I am showing and selling the Echolalia series through September 2015.  I dropped some off in one of the little cubbies and on my way out, I came across the store’s flier.

Someone had mentioned it the other day but I hadn’t seen it until now.  A few months ago, Maria Rizzo, Tom Huff and I did a photo shoot at the store.  It was so fun.  I felt like a celebrity.

I had no idea what to expect and I am very pleasantly surprised.  This is just so amazing.  I’m grateful and thrilled to be in the inaugural exhibit!
