Tiny Jack-O-Lanterns @ GL

Emilia and Jacob drew the faces on these little golf balls turned pumpkin sculptures.

Find them on the trail around Green Lakes!  There are eighteen of them.

Ladybugs @ Chittenango Falls

Step one:  prep the ladybug sculptures

Step two:  invite your favorite Floridians to finish them (a four-year-old and a six-year-old)

Step three:  hike with the whole family at Chittenango Falls State Park

Step four:  watch Emilia hide them on the trail (and on the playground)!

Let me know if you find one!

P.S. finders keeers

Heart Weekend

I will be exhibiting my newest encaustic heart paintings at the Fayetteville Free Library during the month of February 2027.

There are twenty-four paintings in this series but I decided that I needed to create a dozen more in order to properly fill the space.  The supplies arrived yesterday.  I started working on them today.

They are 5″ x 7″ encaustic & collage hardboards that will be mounted onto 9″ x 12″ chalkboards.  I started by layering four coats of damar resin infused beeswax onto the boards then carving out the design.

I added the origami and mulberry papers today too.  I’ll begin the painting element tomorrow (update; above)..  Then paint the 9″ x 12″ boards with black chalkboard paint.  I still need to purchase the frames so that they will match the finished paintings.

I love when a plan comes together!
